Who we are

Dukaan Mitraa (दुकान मित्र) is operated by DUKAAN AI LABS PRIVATE LIMITED (“we”, “us”). Contact: contact@dukaanmitraa.com, +91 87969 33562.

Scope

This policy covers the Dukaan Mitraa Android app (com.dukaanmitraa.app) and www.dukaanmitraa.com.

What Dukaan Mitraa is (and is not)

Dukaan Mitraa is a shop bookkeeping and business assistant for kirana, medical, jewellery, and other retail shops in India. Shop owners use it to record their own sales, purchases, stock, and customer credit (udhaar) for their business records.

We do not process customer payments, collect money on behalf of shops, operate as a bank or wallet, or sell products to end consumers through the app. Amounts you enter (e.g. bill totals) are notes you keep for your shop — not payment transactions we handle.

Information we collect

Account: mobile number, owner name, shop name, shop type, city/locality, language.
Business records you enter: sales, customer names, udhaar/credit balances, procurement/stock lines, and optional bill photos.
Phone contacts (optional): if you tap “pick from contacts” when adding a customer, we read only the contact you select (name and phone). We do not upload or scan your full address book.
Jewellery / Girvi (pledge) records (jewellery shops): borrower name and phone, village or locality, item description, weight, principal amount, interest rate, optional pledge photos, storage notes (e.g. safe/locker/tray), and payment or release history — stored as your shop’s pledge ledger only.
Voice: audio you choose to record for voice entry; we send it to our servers to transcribe into bill text.
Device: device identifier for login sessions and fraud prevention.
App plan status (“business account”): trial or plan entitlements (which features are enabled), renewal dates, and support identifiers such as shop ID. This is not a bank account.
Website contact form: name, mobile, shop name when you request a callback.
Push notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging token if you allow alerts (e.g. stock reminders).
Location (optional): GPS city/locality during onboarding if you allow it — saved as your shop profile location on the home screen. We do not continuously track you or replace that saved location with live GPS in the background.

How we use information

Provide ledger, stock, AI tips, reports, and WhatsApp sharing you initiate.
Authenticate you (OTP / PIN) and secure your account.
Manage trial and plan access for app features.
Respond to support and sales enquiries.
Comply with law and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal information.

Payments & subscriptions

Google Play: The Dukaan Mitraa app is distributed on Google Play as a free business tool. We do not use Google Play Billing in this app version. Shop owners are not charged through the Play Store for in-app purchases.

Business plans: Optional paid plans or renewals, when offered, are arranged directly with Dukaan Mitraa (offline / invoice / sales team) — not as consumer checkout inside the app. Contact sales or +91 87969 33562.

Storage & security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on our servers in India or approved cloud regions. You can export data or delete your account from Settings in the app, or see Account Deletion.

Third parties

Firebase (Google) — push notifications where enabled.
WhatsApp — only when you tap to share a message; we do not read your WhatsApp chats.
AI / speech providers — to transcribe or parse voice/text entries you initiate.
SMS / OTP providers — to send login codes to your phone.

Your choices & rights

Update shop profile and language in the app.
Choose credit (udhaar) and stock modes at onboarding.
Export data (Settings → Export your data).
Delete account (Settings or web instructions).
Contact us to access, correct, or raise privacy concerns under applicable Indian law (including DPDP Act principles).

Children

Dukaan Mitraa is for shop owners and staff aged 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is always at www.dukaanmitraa.com/privacy (हिन्दी). Material changes may be notified in-app or on this page.
